Product Overview
The AAS20A5V is a high-efficiency AC input constant current laser diode driver designed for driving diode lasers with up to 20A low noise current. It operates from a universal AC mains input of 88VAC ~ 264VAC and delivers a configurable output over a 0V ~ 5V range. The output current can be set by an analog voltage of 0 to 2.5V, an external potentiometer, or an internal potentiometer.
A pulsed output current can be generated through the PCN digital modulation port at frequencies up to 5kHz, with the peak current set by the LIS port and the valley current set by the LISL port. The driver includes an on-board high stability 2.5V low noise reference, a soft-start circuit for smooth current transitions at power-up, output short-circuit protection, and an over-temperature protection circuit that shuts the driver down above 85°C and restarts it automatically once the temperature returns to the normal range.
With efficiency above 76% and a low temperature rise of 35°C, the AAS20A5V suits applications requiring high current and high stability, such as fiber lasers and diode laser bars.
